Illinois residents may apply for Medicaid at any time during the year and special enrollment periods may be granted throughout the year to apply for Marketplace insurance following life-changing events, such as loss of employment. Residents who signed have signed up for Marketplace health insurance are required to "review and renew" their current insurance plan during Open Enrollment.

Clients are asked to bring a personal computer or smart phone to assist with Marketplace access. Health Department staff will be available at all three workshops to assist residents.

When you apply for coverage in the Health Insurance Marketplace, you will need to provide some information about you and your household, including income, any insurance you currently have, and some additional items.
If your organization would like to learn more about the Affordable Care Act, please fill out the information below and we will help you schedule a time (within 48 hours) to have an ACA Ambassador attend your event. Please note, events must have a minimum of 20 attendees. The presentation, with time for questions, should last no longer than an hour.
